Interesting. At least there's still a mountain biking culture in the UK, and a cross-country one at that. The US was assailed with bouncebikes and then before you knew it, every single person was riding a road bike, like MTBs never happened.
Side note: I'm a big fan of helmets. They're a must. But it cracked me up seeing him row across that lake in that helmet knowing where he would end up. Yeah, helmet

help you a little if you lost it on that descent.
